A Bridge­port man and a Strat­ford woman face charges af­ter Mil­ford cops stopped them in a stolen car ear­lier this week.

Robert Smith, 24, of Bos­ton Av­enue in Bridge­port, was charged with third­de­gree lar­ceny. He was held on a $ 5,000 bond. There were no up­dated court records for him on Thurs­day.

Hollyann Smith, 20, of Strat­ford Av­enue in Strat­ford, was charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance. She’s ex­pected in court on Dec. 26.

Mil­ford po­lice stopped a car on the Exit 36 off- ramp of In­ter­state 95 north on Tues­day for an equip­ment vi­o­la­tion, po­lice said.

“In­ves­ti­ga­tion showed the ve­hi­cle to be stolen out of Berlin,” po­lice said.

Robert Smith was im­me­di­ately taken into cus­tody and charged with the theft of the ve­hi­cle, po­lice said.

A pas­sen­ger int he car, Hollyann Smith, who po­lice say claimed to be of no re­la­tion to the driver, is ac­cused of be­ing in pos­ses­sion of pre­scrip­tion med­i­ca­tion that she does not hold a pre­scrip­tion for.

It was un­clear if the two are ac­tu­ally re­lated.
