Irene F. ( Lesiak) Halat, age 89 of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield died peacefully on Wednesday January 2, 2019 with her beloved daughter by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Victoria Yachymczyk Orlowski. Irene was a Fairfield resident for over 20 years having moved to Shelton two years ago. She retired from the Naval Plant Representa­tive Office as a financial analysis for over 30 years. She was an active parishione­r of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, having been a eucharist minister and a member of the Resurrecti­on Choir. Irene loved cooking and baking, especially for her family on all occasion.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Victoria Lown and husband James of Shelton, three cherished grandchild­ren: Christophe­r, Michelle and Michael, her son Alexander Lesiak, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predecease­d by her husband Stanley Halat, four brothers and a sister.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 7, 2019 at 10am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Calling hours will take place Monday morning from 8: 30am to 9: 30am in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport.
