Lois Ringelheim

-

We are so sad to announce our mother, Lois Ringelheim’s passing on December 25, 2018 at age 75. She shared so many moments of joy and humor with her family and friends and was a lively debater, avid reader, zealous market watcher and proudly self- sufficient. She raised two children all while getting the first, of eventually three, new businesses off the ground. She had a catering business which thrived in Fairfield County for 20 years, followed by a first- edition book business which she ran until her husband Paul’s passing in 1995. Faced with the challenge of managing her own trading accounts for the first time, she quickly learned the ins and outs of the market as part of the first wave of online traders in the 1990’ s. Her tremendous success with this endeavor led her to be featured in the Wall Street Journal’s “How’s the Market?” section. She is survived by her son Lee, daughter Laura, sonin- law Seth and grandchildren Jack and Lily, all of whom reside in New York City. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no traditional services - family and friends will gather to hold a private celebration this spring. She rests alongside Paul at the Loyalty Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorial funds have been set up and donations may be made in her name to the Pequot Library of Southport, CT or to the Connecticut Humane Society.
