Following in dad’s footsteps

- Dan Ferriouolo

Dan Ferriouolo became a Realtor in 2012, but with a 40- year real estate veteran for a father, it is in his blood.

“I was always with my dad while he was working. I grew up in real estate offices my whole life. It’s in my blood.”

It wasn’t until he lost his job working for the Royal Bank of Scotland that he decided to join his father in the business.

“That was a blessing in disguise. I love what I do and especially the fact that I get to work with my father every day.”

The experience he gained working in the credit department for the Royal Bank of Scotland served him well in his real estate career.

“I learned the ins and outs, dos and don’ts of credit which helps me advise my clients.”

For Ferriouolo, it is his passion that sets him apart.

“When you are truly passionate about something, it shows. That’s what my clients see. I share in their enthusiasm.”

He also takes pride in his ability to know when to keep it casual and when to “suit up”.

“The knowledge is always there, but I don’t believe in pushing myself on people. I negotiate hard and I market hard for my clients, but I refuse to put myself out there like a product.”

He credits his brokerage William Raveis for having his back 100%.

“Raveis says that their agent is their customer and they mean it. They supply us with the technology, systems and resources and it’s up to us to utilize these tools to

Ferriouolo makes it a point to stay apprised of changes in the industry by reading and listening to podcasts to stay in the loop. He embraces a daily mantra of “Community over competition” emphasizing the importance of Realtors cooperating and educating each other for the good of the industry.

He derives the greatest joy from working with first time home buyers and having the opportunity to educate them on the process.

“To me, holding their hand, showing and teaching people the process is what I love to do.”
