TRUMBULL 1 PROPERTY DAMAGE FINE

A Trumbull teacher accused of driving on a neighbor’s yard on her way to school pleaded guilty to reduced charges Friday.

Stacy Weinstein, 53, a teacher at Jane Ryan Elementary School, pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Eugene Calistro Jr. to failure to leave name and address at an accident and was fined $ 50.

Assistant State’s Attorney Felicia Valentino told the judge that Weinstein is compensating the homeowner for the damage she caused.

Weinstein had been charged with failure to drive in the proper lane and evading responsibility.

According to the police report, on Jan. 15, shortly after 8 a. m., officers were detailed to Sterling Road in Trumbull.

A resident told officers he had come out of his house to see a Honda sports utility vehicle driving in circles on his front yard. At one point the vehicle stopped and then continued driving in circles. The SUV then drove off, police said.

Police said the homeowner followed the SUV to the school parking lot.

When officers confronted the driver, later identified as Weinstein, in the parking lot, police said she recalled backing into her own mailbox but nothing else.

Zachery A. Krajewski, 25, was pulled over because of the tinted windows on his 2018 Subaru WRX shortly before 6 p. m. Feb. 21, police said.

Police said they found brass knuckles next to the driver’s seat and discovered Krajewski had a suspended driver’s license.

He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without tint inspection, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a written promise to appear at state Superior Court in Danbury on March 5.
