44 more coronaviru­s- linked deaths in CT

Hospitaliz­ations related to COVID- 19 continue to drop in Connecticu­t, following a trend of several weeks.

Another 44 residents were discharged from hospitals, leaving 533 virus patients currently hospitaliz­ed, according to data released by the state Department of Public Health Saturday.

There were also 44 more virus- associated deaths in Connecticu­t, with 3,912 fatalities since the start of the pandemic.

There are 260 more confirmed cases, with 42,022 residents infected overall across the state.

Connecticu­t has seen 5,542 more tests since Friday, with 246,935 tests performed overall.

On Friday, Gov. Ned Lamont signed an executive order allowing barbershop­s and hair salons to reopen June 1. The order also raised the limits on gatherings to 10 people inside and 25 people outdoors. Larger religious gatherings will now also be permitted.
