Margherite M. Tom

Margherite M. Tom, age 97, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Anthony F. Tom Sr., passed away on February 15, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital. Margherite was born in Bridgeport on June 8, 1923 to the late Frank and Mary ( Lapenna) Petrillo and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Harding High School and attended Southern Connecticut State University. Margherite was an active golfer and swimmer and was a member of the women’s golf leagues at Smith Richardson and Tashua Knolls golf clubs and was also a member of the SCSU Women’s Golf Association. Margherite was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Mark Church and the Italian Community Center. Survivors include her devoted daughter- in- law, Joanne Tom of Orange, cherished grandchildren, Anthony F. Tom III and Madison Dyenor Tom, her daughter, Patricia Picariello and her husband of South Carolina and a special nephew Patrick Petrillo and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Margherite was pre- deceased by her loving son, Anthony F. Tom Jr., and many brothers and sisters. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, February 23rd at 11 a. m. meeting directly at St. Michael’s Cemetery 2205 Stratford Avenue Stratford. Everyone in attendance must follow the COVID 19 guidelines and wear a mask and practice social distancing.
