Edward J. Golding, Sr., age 92, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Anna Paradiso Golding, passed away on April 8, 2021 in his home. Ed was born in New Haven on February 18, 1929 to the late John and Anna ( Martin) Golding and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired truck driver for Boise Cascade and was a member of Teamsters Union Local # 191. Survivors include his devoted children, Keith Golding and his wife Angie of Shelton, Edward Golding Jr. and his wife Cathy of Georgia, Robert Golding and Ruth of Bridgeport and North Carolina, Jane Sorrell and her husband Bob of Tennessee, 10 cherished grandchild­ren, Bryan and Kayleigh, Edward III, Troy, Michelle, Robert Jr., Keisha, Lashon, Billy, Kimberly. Sisters, Ann Ralph, and Maureen Mulvey, and several nieces, nephews, and great grandchild­ren. Ed is also survived by his beloved dog Samantha, who was always by his side. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Ed was predecease­d by his brother Robert Golding and sister, June Herman. Ed will always be remembered for his quick wit and one liners that he would rattle off in every conversati­on. They came to be known as “Eddie Isms’’ within the family. There wasn’t a day that went by when he didn’t have a comment or joke about someone or something going on in the world. He loved spending time with family and friends. Friday night pizza at Rosie’s with his beloved wife Anna, his lunches at the Windsock with his sisters Ann and Maureen, and his many phone calls with friends old and new. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the sincere care, friendship, and attention that Ed received from Dr. Nicholas Bertini and his Team especially Jhakia and Karie, they made all the difference in the world and to the staff at Rite Aid pharmacy in Stratford who always welcomed him with kindness and a goodnature­d banter. A heartfelt thanks to Nurses Vanessa and Pauline of Hartford Healthcare and most especially to Maria and Mirabel who became like family in their care for Ed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 14th at 11: 00 meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Everyone in attendance must follow the current COVID- 19 guidelines, wear a mask and practice social distancing.
