Siegfried “Siggi” Hartmann

On Monday, May 3, 2021, Siegfried “Siggi” Hartmann, loving life partner and father of two, passed away at age 70. Siggi was born on February 25, 1951, in Cologne, Germany, to Helmut and Margrete Hartmann. As a young adult, Siggi was a boxer, served in the German army for two years during the early 1970s, and worked in retail. He raised two children, Nicholas “Niki” Hartmann and Sandy Hartmann Kolbe, and was a proud grandfathe­r of three. Siggi immigrated to the United States in the late 1980s, where along with his father and brother, he opened an auto repair garage in Ridgefield. In addition to his life partner, Janet Trager, and his children and grandchild­ren, Siggi loved horseback riding and both watching and playing soccer, even playing semi- profession­al soccer during his life.

Siggi was preceded in death by his father, Helmut, his mother, Margrete, and his brother, Claus Peter. He is survived by his life partner, Janet, his son Nicholas, his daughter Sandy, her partner, Sebastian Lori, and his grandchild­ren, Emily, Merlin, and Marley, as well as two aunts and several cousins living in Germany.
