John Anthony Golesky of Trumbull, passed away on Friday July 2, 2021, at the age of 72. On Monday June 7, John suffered a tragic accident while working. After several weeks of intensive care in the Burn Unit at Bridgeport Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries with his beloved family by his side. John was born in Bridgeport, Connecticu­t on November 16, 1948 to Anthony and Bernice ( Koldis) Golesky. He graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield CT. John was drafted in to the US Army during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged.

John had many passions in his life, his family being his greatest. He grew up in Fairfield most of his life and living close to the beach, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and clamming at a young age with his brother. He shared those childhood times with his children and grandchild­ren. He enjoyed cooking, collecting coins, watching horse races and hunting for treasure with his metal detector when he had the time.

John had an incredible work ethic and desire to take care of his family which led him to running his own landscapin­g company for many years. His outgoing and fun loving personalit­y touched all those he interacted with. John had a love of musicals and Broadway shows, Mama Mia being one of his favorites and you could catch him singing and dancing with his arms wide open while he cooked in the kitchen.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother Anthony John Golesky. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce ( Fodor) Golesky; and his children Jason and his wife Christiann­e, Carly ( Golesky) Grobbel and her husband Jason; his brothersin- law and sisters- in- law David Fodor and his wife Marie, Donna Smith and her husband Dee, Amy Waldera and her husband Bruce, Virginia Fiore and her husband Nick; his cherished grandchild­ren, Jake, Nathan, Joshua, Owen, Hailey and Peyton; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends and customers.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday July 8, from 9: 00 a. m. until 10: 30 a. m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. His funeral service will follow at 11: 00 a. m at the Trumbull Congregati­onal Church, 3115 Reservoir Avenue Trumbull, CT, . Interment will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
