Rappellers go over the edge to raise money in Bridgeport

-

Over the Edge returned to the area on Saturday, giving more than 75 people the chance to rappel down the side of People’s United Bank headquarters in Bridgeport to raise money for the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in the Southport section of Fairfield.

The club hosted the fundraiser in 2018 and 2019 but couldn’t last year due to COVID. This year, the organization is hoping to raise $112,000 through the event, with the money going to the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club’s annual fund.

Rappellers had to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the organization to participate. This year, the organization also allowed students to participate. Students had to raise $500 to do it.
