Sacred Heart salvages weekend split

Justin Robbins finished with 26 saves and the Sacred Heart men’s hockey team scored three unanswered goals in a 3-1 win over Niagara on Saturday in Bridgeport.

The Pioneers salvaged a weekend split with the Purple Eagles after dropping a 4-1 decision on Friday night.

John Jaworski scored the equalizer on the power play in the second period for

Sacred Heart (2-4). Ryan Steele netted the go-ahead goal on a third-period power play. Braeden Tuck capped the scoring for the Pioneers in the game’s final minute.

Shane Ott scored for Niagara, which fell to 1-4.
