KEEP AN EYE ON

Run, run, run: UConn scored 27 fast-break points in its 96-73 romp over Georgetown on Jan. 25 at Gampel Pavilion and figures to be able to get out in transition again against the Hoyas. Georgetown is fourth in the Big East in offensive rebounding, preferring to crash the boards on shots rather than keep two or three players back, as many other league teams do. That could lead to plenty of run-outs for UConn off Georgetown misses.

Incidentally, UConn leads the Big East in offensive rebounding.

A look at Akok?: Akok Akok has missed UConn’s last seven games with a foot sprain. The 6-foot-9 junior forward was available off the bench for Tuesday’s win over Villanova, but never saw action. With Georgetown’s bigger front line (the Hoyas boast three 7-footers on their roster), it’s possible Akok could see some minutes on Sunday.

Carey that weight: Georgetown is the worst-shooting team in the Big East and isn’t so great from 3-point range, either (32.2 percent). But the Hoyas do have one of the league’s best long-distance shooters in Donald Carey, who’s shooting 41.7 percent on 3-pointers this season and, in Big East games only, is second in the conference in 3-point shooting at 38.8 percent — behind only Villanova’s Collin Gillespie.
