Justine M. Baldino

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Giustina ( Justine) Baldino, on February 9, 2022. Born in San Fele, Italy on March 12, 1940 to Maria Michela (Nellie) Andriaccio and Michele Donato Lorenzo, Justine travelled to the United States in the summer of 1956. Originally a passenger on the Andrea Doria Manifest, fortunate circumstances delayed her departure by one month. She arrived on Ellis Island by way of the Ocean Liner, La Saturnia. Her family made their home in Bridgeport and while attending school to learn English, Justine was employed by a toy and then perfume manufacturer. Upon marrying, her family moved to Stratford where she would make lifelong friends who became extended family. She was an amazing homemaker and mother and a Holy Name of Jesus School volunteer for many years. Justine was later employed by many major Corporations in manufacturing and food service and retired after being with the Oxford Public Schools for many years where she was loved by all. She would return to Italy three times during her life, the first for her daughters to meet their grandfather and last to bring her mother back to the United States where she cared for her until her passing. Always impeccably dressed, she loved to dance, and with a beautiful singing voice, never forgot the lyrics to the Italian songs she learned growing up. She was an avid reader, loved long walks, travelling, and followed politics passionately. Justine was a skilled seamstress and amazing cook, her Sunday and Christmas Eve dinners will never be forgotten.

Justine’s family meant the world to her. She leaves behind her daughters Tina (Al), Donna (Frank), Patricia (Jeff) and Ann Margret; grandchildren Nicole (Martin), Alan (Tasha), Adam (Brittany), Samantha (Ken), Emma, Dominic, Jack; great grandchildren Nikki, Lily, Levi, Mason, Brayden; and her sister Geraldina. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family, friends here and abroad. In addition to her parents, Justine was predeceased by her sisters Margherita and Maria, brothers Donato and Antonio; and extended family, friends here and abroad.

The loss of Justine is immense and felt by all that knew her.

Services will be private with care provided by Aycock at Tradition and Spadaccino Funeral Homes.
