Jay Hunt Lane

-

Jay Hunt Lane, 68, of Shelton, CT, beloved and devoted husband to Leona Dubay Lane, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. It was obvious to all who knew him that he was born to be on the water and enjoyed his training in the Naval Sea Cadets. A life member of East End Yacht Club, he was a friend to all, never hesitating to help, tow, and/or rescue anyone in need. Jay was a talented painting contractor specializing in marine work. He loved all animals and was passionate about classic cars, cruise vacations, and collecting unusual nautical artifacts. He truly cherished his friends, with whom he shared endless love and laughter. Jay built many memories we must now all lean upon to soften this terrible loss. A free spirit, full of life, Jay was truly unique and memorable. Jay was born in Bridgeport, CT to Shirley Wilbur and Charles Lane, and was blessed with the most amazing stepfather Stuart Rainger. He is survived by his wife Leona Lane, his treasured brothers-in-law Frank Dubay Jr. of Hermitage, PA, Ted Dubay of Colchester, CT, and Curt Dubay of Alexandria, VA and their families along with many loving cousins and his faithful companion - his dog Skipper. Friends may call at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Pl, Stratford, CT on Monday April 4, 2022, from 4-8pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 11am in Nichols Farm Burial Ground, Trumbull, CT. There will be a luncheon to follow at East End Yacht Club, 104 Bay St, Bridgeport, CT.
