William S. Haberlin, age 74, of Savannah, GA and Shelton, CT, beloved husband of Carol Gilbride Haberlin, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Born in Bridgeport on February 8, 1948, he was a son of the late Dr. Chester E. and Marion Page Haberlin. Raised in Stratford, he was a graduate of Frank Scott Bunnell High School Class of 1966 and West Virginia University. He was the retired owner of Technical Staffing Solutions.

Bill had a strong love of his country, proudly serving in the Army and Army National Guard. He served his community as a member of the Jaycees, Rotary, Sterling House and many more organizati­ons. He was active in the Republican Party, being elected Councilman-at-large in Stratford and later to the Board of Finance in Trumbull. An active member of First Congregati­onal Church of Stratford Bill served as the Chairperso­n for the Church Council, Board of Deacons and Board of Trustees as well as the Stratford Ecclesiast­ical Society and the Stratford Burial Ground Committee. In Savannah, he was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Bill loved his family, friends, playing golf, traveling, dining out, buying cars and watches, sitting on his porch in Savannah, and an ice, cold Belvedere martini with a twist!

In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol, survivors include his loving children, Christian Haberlin and his wife Breana and Jennifer Nyquist and her husband Eric, three cherished grandchild­ren, Kiersten Nyquist and Cam and Shayne Haberlin, a brother, Page Haberlin and his wife Ginny, mother-in-law, Micki McMahon, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a brother, Chester Haberlin Jr.

All funeral services were held privately and burial took place in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. A Memorial Service of Life will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Congregati­onal Church, 2301 Main St. Stratford, CT.
