Clinton Michael Salko

-

Clinton Michael Salko, age 55 of Fairfield, the loving son of Clinton Hull Salko and the late Marcia Tierney Salko, died suddenly after a brief illness on December 26, 2022, at home. Born in Bridgeport, Clint grew up in Fairfield and Easton. He was a graduate of Joel Barlow High School, Class of 1985 and earned his B.S. degree in Business Management from Sacred Heart University in 1991.

Clint was a technically astute problem-solver in life and always eager to help others. Professionally, this led him to a 25+ year career in information technology support roles at various companies, but it was the personal relationships and being a valued member of the team that he loved most. The strong friendships he cultivated at FreeLife, DXC/ CSC Corp. and Dictaphone Corporation have endured for decades.

Personally, this expertise came to life through his passion for cars. Starting at an early age, Clint would spend any free moment, with friends or by himself, in the garage, building and rebuilding cars, motorcycles or anything with a motor. He especially loved working on his beloved green, 1966 Mustang and driving his Harley Davidson.

Clint’s nickname as a child was ‘Hap’, because even when he was sick, he was the happiest child our grandmother had ever seen. He was a positive bright light and brought his easy-going nature, his humor, optimism and love of 1980s music to everyone he encountered. He loved his friends like they were family and will be missed by many. Never one to complain, though he had more reasons than most to do so, he never wanted sympathy or special treatment.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his siblings, Jonathan Salko of Fairfield, David Salko and his wife, Barbara of Wilton, Sheila Salko-Peddle and her husband, Joseph of Trumbull, Caitlin Bosse and her husband, Patrick of Fairfield and Stacey Cirillo and her husband, Scott of Mendham, NJ. His humor and wise cracks will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Colin, Madelyn, Zachary, Catherine, Maura, Abigail, and Maxwell.

He was recently predeceased by his longtime loyal companion, “Uncle Larry”the best chihuahua we ever met and his absolute best buddy.

Friends may greet his family on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield. A Vigil Service with eulogies will be held at 5:30 p.m.
