Edward A. Sulik Jr.
Edward A. Sulik Jr, 76, of Stratford CT passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022. Born on August 15,1946, he is the son of the late Edward A. Sulik Sr. and Janina (Kuszaj) Sulik. Ed was a lifelong Stratford resident and a 1964 Bunnell High School graduate. Ed enlisted in the United States Army and was a proud veteran, having served honorably during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. He retired from the Town of Stratford as the Recreation Youth Programmer. He was also employed as a State Certified Appraiser with Sepso Appraisal Associates. He was likely best known to many as “Coach Sulik” having passionately coached football from Pop Warner to Bunnell High School. For years the mood at the Thanksgiving dinner table hinged on the outcome of the annual Bunnell vs Stratford High game. Ed was a loving brother, devoted uncle and warmest friend. He will be truly missed and leaves behind his Aunt Sally (Roger) Landry of Manchester, CT, sister Sandi ( Jim) Vane, nephew Jim (Val) Vane, great-niece Sydney Vane and great-nephew Nick Vane all of Colorado, his brother Doug (Kate) Sulik, nephew Nick Sulik and niece Maggie (Matt) Normandin. Ed also leaves behind his close companion Camille Marranzino, daughter Laurie (Steve) Piroh and their children Zach and Samantha. His lifelong friends (you know who you are) were such a source of support during his illness and his family is forever grateful. Ed’s family would especially like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the staff in The Gerschon House Short Term Rehab of the Jewish Senior Services for their dedicated care. Arrangements are entrusted to Adzima Funeral Home in Stratford and will be private. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held in the Spring, to be announced at a future date.
