Raymond “Ray” DeZenzo, Sr., 88, a longtime resident of Fairfield, currently residing in Milford, beloved husband to Katherine “Kay” DeZenzo, entered into eternal rest on Sunday December 25,2022 at noon in Bridgeport Hospital. Ray Sr. was born on February 25,1934 in Bridgeport to parents, Anthony and Gertrude DeZenzo. Ray Sr. and Kay were married on June 25, 1955, in Fairfield residing on Lovers Lane in Fairfield for many years. Raymond Sr. worked at American Fabrics, Sturm Ruger Co. for 29 years, and finished up his career at Sikorsky Aircraft at age 62, retired as Treasurer of Teamsters Union. Enjoyed a long retirement, loved to fish at Sasco beach early mornings catching striped bass. Most of all Raymond loved his family, often crying happy tears of joy at weddings, picnics, and most family gatherings. He taught us its okay for men to cry. Raymond is survived by loving children, Raymond Jr., (Donita) DeZenzo and Donald DeZenzo, 6 Grandchild­ren, Thomas (Lindsey) DeZenzo, Amy Dube , Nicholas (Analiese) DeZenzo, Amanda Rivera, Stephanie DeZenzo, and Donald DeZenzo Jr., 10 Great grandchild­ren, Josh DeZenzo, Arianna Rivera, Carter Dube, Johanna Rivera, Nathan DeZenzo, Grant Dube, Rhees DeZenzo, Emerson Dube, Troy DeZenzo, and Shaye DeZenzo, his sister Diane and brother Albert DeZenzo along with many nieces and nephews that loved him very much. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 28, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. directly at Holy Cross Church, 750 Tahmore Dr., Fairfield. His interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
