Gloria Luisa DeBiase, 100, of Bridgeport, Connecticu­t, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. For more than two years, she was in the compassion­ate hands of her caretaker, Patience Danso of Manchester, CT.

Gloria was born in Bridgeport and graduated from Central High School in 1939. She served in the United States Navy and graduated as a Hospital Apprentice First Class in 1945. Over several decades Gloria held various secretaria­l and customer service positions at General Electric in Bridgeport until her retirement.

Gloria enjoyed travel and went to destinatio­ns all over the world. Up until she was about age 90, Gloria was an avid Golfer at Fairchild Wheeler in Fairfield and over the years had two Aces to her credit. She had also enjoyed bowling for many years in the Morning Glories League at Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield. Gloria will be remembered as a beautiful, kind, funny, friendly woman with always a positive attitude and a great sense of humour that was all her own. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loved and knew her.

Gloria is survived by her sister-in law Carol DeBiase of West Haven, CT; nephews David (Marlo) DeBiase of Branford, CT; Robert (Patricia) DeBiase of Seymour, CT; Anthony “AJ” ( Jennie) Minotti Jr. of Indialanti­c, FL; Kenneth (Cathleen) Minotti of Deerfield Beach, FL; Stephen Minotti of Deerfield Beach, FL; nieces Cynthia (DeBiase) D’Apice (Ron D’Apice) of Wolcott, CT; Mary Ellen (DeBiase) Hartsburg (Edward Latham) of Derby, CT; Linda Minotti (Thomas Romeo) of Lighthouse Point, FL; seven grandnephe­ws; five grandniece­s; one great grandnephe­w, two great grandniece­s and her wonderful neighbors and friends who were always there for her in her later years.

She was predecease­d in death by her brothers, Edward DeBiase and Guido DeBiase; sister Jane Minotti, brother-in-law Anthony Minotti Sr. niece Mary Jane Minotti Ashby and grandnephe­w Peter Sultsbach. Her sister-in-law Francesca DeBiase passed away on December 23rd.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangemen­t entrusted to the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
