Monica Wolf

-

Monica Wolf was the life of the party. The busiest bee, a fantastic chef, a kind-hearted giver, and a witty, hilarious, vital force until the end. Monica loved people and she was deeply loved and cherished in return. Born in St. Paul, Antigua in 1937, she was the daughter of Ada and David Symister, and was later adopted by her aunt Josephine Este and husband Arnold Chambers. She met her true love, Herman, in 1971 and made Connecticut her home for the next 50 years. Monica spent many wonderful years as a congregant of Fairfield-Grace Methodist Church; in her later years, she became a proud member of Danbury-Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to sing in her church choirs and passed on that love of singing to her daughter. Monica enjoyed a 40+ year career in banking, first at Barclay’s in St. John’s, Antigua, and then at People’s Bank in Connecticut, primarily at the Fairfield branches. She was a favorite teller for decades, with numerous customers waiting in line longer than necessary just to go to her window. Her favorite color was green—and she had the green thumb to prove it, creating beautiful gardens of flowers and foliage everywhere she roamed. Monica Wolf passed away December 27, 2022, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Herman Wolf; and her siblings Mavis Blair, Maurice Symister, Keturah Richards, and Milton Symister. She is survived by her daughter Fay Wolf and husband, Garrett Dorin; her stepchildren David Wolf, Louise Chandler, Bill Wolf, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and an abundance of close friends. Funeral will take place January 15, 2023 at Danbury-Bethel SDA Church in Bethel, CT. Viewing at 10am, Service at 11am. Burial at B’nai Israel Cemetery in Monroe, CT to immediately follow.
