Yale falls to Cornell

Nazir Williams scored 27 points as Cornell beat Yale 94-82 on Friday night in Ithaca, N.Y.

Williams also contribute­d five rebounds and five assists for the Big Red (13-4, 3-1 Ivy League). Greg Dolan scored 14 points while shooting 4 for 7 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. Guy Ragland Jr. recorded 12 points and shot 3 for 10 (2 for 7 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs (11-6, 1-3) were led in scoring by Bez Mbeng, who finished with 21 points. John Poulakidas added 12 points, two steals and two blocks for Yale. Matt Knowling also put up 11 points.

Iona 75, Fairfield 69: At New Rochelle, N.Y., Nelly Junior Joseph had 17 points in Iona's win over Fairfield on Friday night.

Joseph also had 10 rebounds for the Gaels (12-5, 5-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Daniss Jenkins added 16 points while going 5 of 10 and 6 of 7 from the free throw line, and he also had seven rebounds. Anton Brookshire was 4 of 5 shooting and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points.

The Stags (6-10, 2-4) were led by TJ Long, who posted 18 points. Jake Wojcik added 16 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals for Fairfield. Supreme Cook also put up 14 points and three blocks.

Quinnipiac 58, St. Peter's 51: At Hamden, Paul Otieno finished with a double-double and Quinnipiac beat Saint Peter's on Friday night.

Otieno totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats (13-5, 4-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Ike Nweke shot 3 of 10 from the field and 4 for 6 from the line to add 10 points. Matt Balanc had 10 points 10-of-12 shooting from the free-throw line.

Jayden Saddler finished with 18 points and three steals for the Peacocks (7-10, 2-6). Isiah Dasher added 10 points, while Jaylen Murray scored nine.

MEN’S HOCKEY

Yale 4, RPI 1: At New Haven, Luke Pearson finished with 26 saves as the Bulldogs picked up an ECACy win.

Connor Sullivan, Brandon Tabakin, Reilly Connors and Quinton Ong all scored for Yale (3-10-3, 2-8-1 ECAC).

James McIsaac scored the lone goal for RPI (8-13-1, 3-8-0 ECAC).

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

No. 2 Quinnipiac 2, No. 5 Colgate 1 (OT): At Hamilton, N.Y., Olivia Mobley scored in overtime to give the Bobcats a key ECAC win on Friday.

Nina Staeigauf gave Quinnipiac (21-3-0, 9-1-0 ECAC) a lead in the third period before Colgate (18-3-1, 8-2-0 ECAC) scored the equalizer at the 15:10 mark of the final frame.

Logan Angers finished with 27 saves for Quinnipiac.
