Pamela Gettings
Pamela B. Gettings, age 70, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, on July 25, 1952, to Anthony and Frances (Greene) Buonanno.
Pamela was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT in 1970. Pamela worked as a Dental Assistant for the late Dr. Victor Goldmerstein DMD in Stratford, CT for over 15 years. She loved her job and her patients.
Pamela was happiest when she was around her family and friends. She loved to watch her grandchildren’s dance recitals, soccer, basketball, and baseball games, gymnastics meets, and school concerts. She was so proud of her sons and grandchildren and loved them dearly. She looked forward to evenings with her friends playing the game left, right, center, while enjoying pizza and more than a few laughs. Pamela loved spending time with her sister and the two often shared a weekend together and a few vacations. Their memorable antics earned them the nickname “Thelma and Louise”. She enjoyed hosting her family and on Thanksgiving in 2022 she held her biggest gathering yet. She would do anything for her family and friends.
In addition, she loved animals, especially her dogs, Petey and Riley.
Pamela is survived by her sons John Gettings and fiancé Claudia (Southbury, CT), Jeremy Gettings and wife Amy (Redding, CT); her brother Anthony Buonanno and wife Eleanore (Stratford, CT), her brother Vincent Buonanno and wife Nancy (Stowe, VT), her sister Victoria Luczak and husband John (South Kingston, RI); her grandchildren Madison, Samantha, Jay, Charlie, Ashley, and Hector; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Please join us in celebrating her life, Saturday morning, January 28, 2023 between 10am and 1pm, at Brookside Memorial Funeral Home, 200 Benson Road, Middlebury, CT 06762.
