TENNIS & SPORTS CAMP

The Greenwich Racquet Club offers both a tennis sports camp and a tennis-only camp. The tennis sports camp is primarily tennis, but also includes indoor soccer and basketball. Students are placed according to age and skill set using the correct court size, balls, and racquets. Fun drills and games are implemente­d to develop proper technique, footwork, and ball control. This popular program runs in weekly sessions, Monday through Friday, June 26–Aug. 25. Every Friday is Pizza Day. No membership required.

Red Ball (8 and under)

Children age 4 –8 play on a 36-foot court with mini net to develop basic techniques and simple tactics while playing fun individual and team games. Hours: 9 a.m. to noon or 1 – 4 p.m.

Orange Ball (10 and under)

Children play on a 60-foot court with full net to focus on technique, balance, match play rules, and basic strategy. Hours: 1–4 p.m.

Green Ball (12 and under)

Children play on a full court and focus on ball control using more intermedia­te techniques and tactics. Hours: 1 –4 p.m.

Tennis Only (12-16 and under; Intermedia­te/Advanced)

This is a tennis-only program intended for intermedia­te and advanced players who have begun or are ready for tournament play. The program focuses on fitness, footwork, and match play strategy. Hours: 1 –4 p.m.

There is limited space so early sign-up is recommende­d. The club is located on the water in Cos Cob with four air-conditione­d indoor courts. Camp takes place rain or shine.
