SUMMER FUN
AT THE CONNECTICUT HISTORICAL SOCIETY!
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Our free outdoor concert series is back! Join us June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, and Sept. 14 as we showcase folk and traditional arts from across the state. Grounds open for seating and picnicking at 5 p.m.; music starts at 6 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and food; a food truck will also be available onsite.
FAMILY ACTIVITY KITS
These fun kits feature historic themes, images of objects from the museum, and hands-on activities to complete at home. Kits are available during museum hours and are included in the cost of admission. Themes change every other month, so you won’t want to miss them!
INSPIRE CENTER
Using inspiration from Curtis Veeder, a Connecticut inventor, and the unique objects in our collection, the Inspire Center brings history and problem-solving together in this hands-on, creative space designed for visitors of all ages! The Inspire Center is open on weekends.
FAMILY ADVENTURE DAYS
Starting July 5, check out these drop-in family programs with crafts, activities, and games for children of all ages every Wednesday and Sunday in July from 1-4 p.m. Each week features a new theme inspired by Connecticut history and objects in the CHS collection!
THE BICYCLE GAME
This interactive and playful exhibition is designed for visitors of all ages! The history of the bicycle has been transformed by an angry villain into a series of games and puzzles that must be solved. You will need to rely on a host of skills to make your way through the game and preserve this important piece of Connecticut history.
