Regina DeLuca Gatto died peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in her home of 60 years surrounded by her loving family. Regina was born in Bridgeport on August 20th, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph DeLuca Sr. She worked in the insurance industry for several years until the birth of her first child, at which point she became a stay at home mom. For more than 35 years, Regina was a volunteer at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center Federal Credit Union. During her time as a volunteer with St. Vincent’s, she received many accolades, including The Volunteer of the Year Award. Regina is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Andrew P. Gatto of Bridgeport, her son Joseph P. Gatto and his husband Ian McNeal of Baltimore, as well as many nieces and nephews and one loving caregiver and unofficial daughter Kathy Maraia of Bridgeport. Regina was predecease­d by her children Andrew J. Gatto, and Donna T. Ward, as well as three brothers, Ralph Jr., Dominic and Frank, and a sister Margaret. Regina’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hartford HealthCare Hospice, Dr. Richard Sekerak, and Dr. Strick Woods, as well as the care team at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, especially Ivor, 10 South RN, who provided care and attention to Regina and her family at their most vulnerable time.

Friends may call for a wake at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT on Monday, March 6th from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home and followed immediatel­y by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. St. Patrick’s Church, 451 North Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
