Henry F. Sciongay Jr.

-

Henry F. Sciongay Jr., age 62, of Naugatuck entered into rest on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital after a long, courageous battle with several health complications. Henry was born in Shelton, CT on October 25th, 1960 to Henry F. Sciongay Sr., and Florence (Moulthrop) Sciongay. He had a childhood surrounded by a large loving family. His first friends were his sisters, Cindy, and Gail, and several cousins who made up their tight-knit community. Hank went to school in Shelton all his life, where he had many friends and was known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor. Henry had a career in construction, drilling and blasting. He was proud of the work he did, and would often take his children, Amy and Elliott for car rides to the building sites on the weekends to show them the holes that were once buildings. He was a fisherman and loved to spend time on the water, fishing, and creating his own lures, a patient and exacting art. He loved all things Dallas Cowboys. Through winning super bowls and enduring losing seasons, every game was a celebration for them, complete with super bowl snacks and air horns. Henry was the beloved father of Amy (Sciongay) Suwala, her husband Adrian, and Elliott Sciongay. He is survived by Cindy Ayeli, and her husband Shahriar, Gail Adamson, and Linda ( Judt) Sciongay. He was a wonderful uncle to Kayvon Ayeli, Clarence Higbee, and Marcie Pisacano. He is also survived by several extended family members. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held for family and friends who wish to pay their respects and share a memory of Hank. This will take place on Monday, March 6th, 2023 from 3:00 pm- 5:30 pm with a eulogy taking place at 3:30 pm at Jesse Camilles, 615 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT.
