Odete Pires

Odete Pires passed in peace Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 87 with her two loving daughters by her side.

She was the dear wife of the late Francisco Pires for 50 years. She was the loving mother of Sofia Pires and Graciete Pires Martinez, mother-in-law to Felipe Martinez, and grandmother to Lucas, Mateo, and Tomas.

Odete and Francisco shared a beautiful relationship based on love, mutual respect, and admiration. It was common to see them walking hand in hand. Their life was built on the foundation of teamwork and friendship. She was her daughters greatest role model and their infinite source of pure love. Her purpose in life was to ensure her daughters’ happiness and success in order to prepare them for life. She was their first and most important educator. Always patient and kind, she was adored by her grandchildren. Laughter often ensued when they were in the presence of their beloved “Mãe.” Odete was cherished by her son-in-law, Felipe, usually bonding over a dessert.

Regardless of life’s struggles, Odete’s happy demeanor, perseverance and determination allowed her to provide a life for her and her family. One would often find her singing, cooking, chatting on the phone with her sisters or tending to her beautiful garden. A naturalborn caregiver, she would always place the needs of others before her own. Her light will continue to shine bright and guide us in our lives as it always has, our eternal sunshine. We will forever feel her enduring love.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Theresa’s church in Trumbull, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven.
