Barbara Rutkowski Brinsko, age 95, beloved wife of the late Edward Brinsko, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Zigmunt and Charlotte Mozelewski Rutkowski, and was a lifelong resident. She retired after working many years for the Bridgeport Nutrition Center. She is survived by her devoted children Edward Brinsko Jr. and wife Diane Deluca, Pamela Acquista and husband Richard, four cherished grandchild­ren Emily, Richard, Rebecca, and Jennifer, three great-grandchild­ren Jackson Bittel, Lucas Martin, and Olivia Crouse, and several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by six brothers and sisters. Barbara’s life was full of love for family and friends. She loved gatherings and was known for her ability to bring people together. She was most known for garage parties, where friends and family gathered for good food and lots of laughs. Barb was also a great lover of animals, a trait inherited by her children and grandchild­ren. She felt that pets complete a home, and considered them part of the family. This compassion extended to the squirrels and birds in her yard, and she made sure that every grocery order included bread for the birds. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenienc­e of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
