Elaine Petron

Elaine Petron, age 89, of Easton, loving wife of the late Phillip Petron, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Vasilios and Politimi Morfogen Kokines. Elaine was a graduate of Hunter College and began her professional career as a pioneer in the area of computer programming for IBM and went on to become a math teacher at Sacred Heart University and a real estate agent. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Elaine valued family above all else and found the greatest pleasure in her role as wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

In addition to her beloved husband, Phillip, and her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings Vivian and George. She leaves behind her three sons, Peter (Emily) of Easton, Alex (Marion) of Lancaster, PA, and Chris ( Jen) of Simsbury, CT, and her seven beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Elena, Eva, Isabel, Olivia, Sophia, and Zach.

The Petrons are deeply grateful to all those who cared for Elaine with warmth and sensitivity during the last few years and days of her long and beautiful life, including the staff at The Watermark 3030.

The Rite of Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11am in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Bridgeport, with Fr. Georgios Livaditis, Presbyter, officiating followed by interment at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Calling hours will take place in the church on Monday morning from 10am until time of service. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport, has been entrusted with coordinating the services.
