Gildo Nicolia, age 93, of Monroe, beloved husband of Giuseppina Incitti Nicolia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 6, 1930 in Torrice, a Province of Frosinone, Italy, he was the son of the late Tomasso and Anna Marini Nicolia. A member of the Italian Army, Gildo immigrated to the United States in 1954. Soon after, he would join the Laborers Union and go on to work for many area construction companies, notably Arduini Construction and Frouge Construction. While at Frouge, he was very proud to have been a part of the construction of the Trumbull Mall and many other major projects. He enjoyed making wine, gardening and loved to watch soccer. He was the life of the party, always entertaining family and friends with his accordion. Above all things he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. Gildo always put the needs of his family before his own. The unconditional love he gave and values that he instilled will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by all.
