MIKITA, CRAIG W. of Milford, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, January 8, 2024. Loving husband of Jeanie Mikita (Coker). Craig was born in Bridgeport to William Mikita and Catherine (Craig). He spent part of his childhood in California before moving back to Bridgeport. Craig graduated from Central High School and went on to receive his degree from Housatonic. Craig was multi-talented, learning woodworking, home maintenance, and if it broke he could fix it.

Craig loved the outdoors and led an active lifestyle biking, boating and kayaking in Long Island Sound. He enjoyed skiing the slopes in VT and NH. Craig was also an accomplished scuba diver exploring the New England shores and traveling with Jeanie and Eric to dive and explore the Caribbean. His love of wine brought him to frequent the wine country with his wife.

Most of all Craig adored his wife, Jeanie. He loved being a father and later on a grandfather. He enjoyed having his family around including his siblings whom he helped raise from a young age. He thrived in his role as the patriarch of his family and he will be missed dearly.

Craig was the proud father of Eric Mikita and his wife Elisabeth “Liz” of Milford. Caring grandfather of Aurora, Hunter, and Violet. Beloved older brother of Rick Mikita and his partner Elena of Bridgeport, Wayne Mikita and his wife Angela of Woodbury, and Ginny Norton and her husband Tom of Bethany. He is also survived by his nephews and niece.

Friends and family are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT. Friends may visit with the family before the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the church.
