Eleanor Rose (Margiano) Sabetta, age 92, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Bishop Wicke Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse Sabetta. She was born in Ansonia on August 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Dominick Thomas Margiano, Sr. and Emily (Lisi) Margiano. Eleanor proudly earned certificat­ion to become a pre-school instructor and enjoyed working with young children for more than 25 years. She was a constant contributo­r to youth organizati­ons and charities. She was an avid sports fan, especially for her favorite Shelton High School Galloping Gaels sports teams. Eleanor was a member of the Sutter-Terlizzi American Legion Post 16 Women’s Auxiliary and the St. Margaret Mary Church Women’s Group. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and was an accomplish­ed baker. She enjoyed sharing time with close friends and her beloved family. Mrs. Sabetta is survived by her sons Richard M. Sabetta and his wife Stephanie (Ramsey) Sabetta and Nicholas F. Sabetta and his wife Lisa (DeSalvator­e) Sabetta, her grandchild­ren Jonathan M. Sabetta and Jessye Adair Sabetta, her nieces Sally

Reilly, Suzanne G. Margiano, and Dina Gotowala, and her nephews Eugene Reilly, Kevin Reilly, Keith Margiano and Scott Margiano. She was predecease­d by her brothers Donald J. Margiano and Dominick T. Margiano, Jr. and her nephew Craig T. Margiano. On Saturday, January 20 friends are invited to attend Eleanor’s Funeral Memorial Service at 10 a.m. in Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Burial will be privately held with her immediate family in attendance. Memorial contributi­ons can be made in Eleanor’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
