-

Henry “Hank” B. Smith, age 76, of Milford and formerly Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away after a brief illness on November 19, 2023 in his home with family by his side. He was born in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Henry A. and Helena Bryant Smith. Hank will be remembered by those whose lives he touched for his amazing memory, quick wit, self deprecating and sometimes irreverent sense of humor, but most of all for his kindness and genuine caring. A wide smile, friendly eyes and an immediate interest in how you were doing was his familiar greeting to all.

Hank graduated from Lafayette College, Easton, PA in 1969 with a B.A. in Economics. He continued his education at Northwestern University, Graduate School of Management, Chicago, IL, where he received his M.B.A. majoring in both marketing and economics. Upon graduation he began his fifty-plus year career in investment management and financial services as a Security Analyst with Goldman, Sachs; Portfolio Manager with American Express; Account Executive with Bear, Stearns; and Regional Vice President with Primerica Financial Services where he continued to actively service his clients until his passing. Hank served his country as an Army Reservist, resigning his commission as a Captain after many years.

Hank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret (Meg) Clark Smith, his son Christopher Bryant Smith and his wife, Diana, his grandchildren, Milania, Isaiah and Lola who loved their Pop-Pop dearly, his brotherin-law Bradley W. Clark and his wife Margaret, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Katherine A. Smith, and brother, Paul Smith.

Visitation and celebration of Hank’s life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT.
