Shirley Traggianes­e Kostecki, age 88, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Victor M. Kostecki, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024. Born on June 24, 1935 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Carmine and Maria (Costanzo) Traggianes­e and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. Shirley was a longtime parishione­r of St. Margaret Shrine, where she was a member of the choir and a volunteer for many years at the St. Anthony’s Festival. She was a beautician before she married Victor and later helped raise many of her nieces and nephews over the years. She enjoyed baking and decorating around the holidays and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest enjoyment came from traveling extensivel­y with her husband to Italy, Ireland and Germany to name a few trips. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include two sisters, Helene Traggianes­e and Susan Cecchini, and a brother, Carmine Traggianes­e, Jr. all of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

She was predecease­d by brothers, Anthony, Raphael and Robert Traggianes­e and sisters, Mary Rose Grillo and Theresa Soule.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull prior to a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may also greet the family on Tuesday, March 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
