Enid Marion Varker, age 96, of Bridgeport, CT, passed peacefully away March 8, 2024, from Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. She was born in England to the late John and Enid Price. Enid immigrated to America with her family in 1966. She was a retired secretary. Enid had been employed at Read’s Department store, Warnaco, in Bridgeport, University of Bridgeport’s Bursar and Law offices, Stevenson Lumber in Monroe, and an answering service in Trumbull. In England, Enid had worked for the Leofric Hotel, a telephone exchange, and ran a roomlet. Enid, in her youth, enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a talented knitter, loved reading, watching history and nature programs, and comedy and dramas. She always enjoyed spending time in nature, and with her dogs and cats, and feeding the birds and squirrels. Enid had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed family time and also traveling with her husband. She was kind, intelligen­t, generous and a loving wife and mother.

She was predecease­d by her beloved husband, Frank Varker.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony Harcourt (Paulette), and David Varker (Laurel), two daughters, Fiona Varker (the late Thomas Stone) and Helen

Varker (George Shrady), seven grandchild­ren, Trevor Shrady, Catrin Shrady, Darren Pavlik, Michele Pavlik, Marlene Pavlik, David Pavlik, and Tracie Pavlik, and two great-grandchild­ren, Brandon Pavlik and Justin Pavlik, and several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by two brothers.

A memorial service will be held on April 13th, at 1:00, at St. Peter’s Grace Episcopal Church, 175 Old Tannery Road, Monroe, CT.
