-

Stacey Ray Tellis, age 54, of Trumbull passed away on Saturday, January 6th, 2024. She was the beloved mother of Andrew Richard Tellis and Thomas Joseph Tellis. Born in Hempstead, New York, on November 8, 1969, she was the daughter of Barbara K. Ray and the late Richard D. Ray of Southbury, Connecticut. Ms. Tellis obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Cortland and then went on to earn her Master’s degree from C.W. Post in Special Education. Her career as an elementary school teacher began at Columbus School in Bridgeport. She was selfless and devoted to her students and took great pride in her work. She will be missed by the many students whose lives she touched throughout her career. She worked for the Bridgeport Board of Education for over 20 years and finished her career as a literacy teacher. Stacey worked tirelessly both during school hours as well as supervising after-school activities and coaching sports teams. The safety and happiness of her students was always a top priority. She was instrumental in creating and implementing after-school programs, so her students could have a safe place to do their homework as well as various other activities. Stacey was an avid reader who also enjoyed skiing, long walks on the trail and watching spectator sports, especially basketball and football. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time she spent with her family. A loving and devoted mother, daughter, aunt, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, particularly her special sense of humor and deep devotion to her faith. In addition to her beloved sons, survivors include her former spouse Matthew Tellis, of Trumbull, her brother and sister-inlaw, Steven and Laura Ray, her nieces Kayla and Victoria Ray, also of Trumbull, as well as many other extended family members too numerous to mention.

Relatives and friends may greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, Connecticut.
