Michael Patrick D’Louhy, age 61, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on March 22, 2024 in his residence. Michael was a member of the Boy Scouts and Civil Air Patrol. He has a zest for life and loved his family, friends and animals. Michael’s friends were family and he cherished everyone deeply. He loved the outdoors and helping others within the community. He had a loving and generous heart donating regularly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the ASPCA. He was an animal lover and rescuer of many abused dogs. He shared a very special bond with all his “pet children.” Michael loved the outdoors and some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, hiking, camping, gardening, cooking and snowmobili­ng. He was a longtime member of the Stratford Exchange club, a nonprofit organizati­on working towards the prevention of child abuse and the betterment of America. He held the office of President for one year. Michael graduated from Bunnell High School in 1979 and went onto graduate from Sacred Heart University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. He also attended the Connecticu­t School of Electronic­s. Later, Michael pursued a career in Engineerin­g and worked at several United Technologi­es Corporatio­ns, including Norden Systems, Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a hard and loyal worker as an avionics engineer and lead salesman assisting in procuring the success of Sikorsky Aircraft. During his career, Michael was afforded the opportunit­y to travel extensivel­y overseas. Some of his favorite destinatio­ns were Poland, Scotland, Norway and Germany. D’Louhy and their beloved dog, Dash, who passed away three months earlier, leaving Michael heart broken, a sister, Diana McDougall and her husband, Malcolm, his adoring nephews, Adam and Cory McDougall from Michigan, a sister, RuthAnn Korpita from Milford, a brother, Robert D’Louhy Jr. of Stratford, four sistersin-law, Victoria Kalish and her husband, Keith of Milford, Laurie Christiano and her husband, Clifford of Seymour, Cheryl Corbo and her husband, Mark from Seymour and Maria Rowe of Naugatuck and several nieces and nephews. Michael is predecease­d by his loving parents, Robert and Marion D’Louhy, one brother, Charles Lloyd Berry, and one brother-inlaw, who Michael referred to “as a brother to him,” David Joseph Rowe. Friends may call on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford to celebrate Michael’s life.
