Lucretia (Lu) Cretella Burton Blydenburg, age 97, of Milford, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Mary Caselli Cretella on March 7, 1927, Lu was the wife of the late Charles Blydenburg and Marcel Burton and had lived in Trumbull, Oronoque Village in Stratford, Shelton, and Milford. She had been employed at D.M. Read’s Department Store and Remington Products. Lu was a faithful parishione­r of St. Ann’s Church in Milford and was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary of Sylvan Crest Memorial Post 177.

Lu’s memory will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Frederick Chapman, of Trumbull; nieces and nephews, Joseph Curley, of Milford, Elaine (Edward) Fiorillo, of Derby, Ellen (Ralph) Solhem, of Milford, Frederick Chapman, III (Irene), of Huntington, Michael Chapman, and his wife, Susan and his children, Nichole and Anthony; and several Godchildre­n and cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, Lu was predecease­d by her sisters, Evelyn Chapman and Louise Curley, and her husband, Joseph E. Curley, and a nephew, Brett Chapman.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Parente Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Ann’s Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford, CT 06460.
