Frances E. (DeFina) DiMenna, age 90, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Joseph DiMenna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on February 18, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Nee Jacobelli) DeFina. Mrs. DiMenna graduated from Central High School, Bridgeport, in 1951 and later received her R.N. from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. Her career of helping others then spanned many years, having been employed by St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport Hospital and also at the office of Dr. Riccio M.D. Fran loved to travel, having visited all of the United States and over 70 countries. She loved music, studied piano and also enjoyed dancing. Her smile and energy were infectious and she was very active with various clubs and the Italian Community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband, Joe, of 67 years, other survivors include her devoted sons, Joseph and Robert DiMenna, daughterin-law, Suzanne DiMenna, and cherished grandchild­ren, Anthony, Tess and Claire DiMenna. In addition, many nieces, nephews and other family were a very important part of her life. She was predecease­d by her three sisters, Ann Nimke, Lee Bottani and Gloria Meyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa’s Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in Fran’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, wwww.stjude. org .
