State’s food truck festivals gearing up for summer

Discover new tastes at a food truck festival this summer, with events happening throughout Connecticu­t. Here’s where to get your fill of tacos, pickles, fried dough, barbecue, lobster rolls and much more.

The Milford Food Truck Festival runs May 25-27 at the Connecticu­t Post Mall from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with more than 25 trucks lined up and various eating competitio­ns. Admission is free.

Food Trucks on the River at Shelton’s Veterans Memorial Park runs May 31 and June 1, with more than 25 food trucks, live music, craft beer, children’s activities and more. There is a $5 suggested donation, and the rain date is June 2.

The North Haven Fair Food Festival at the North Haven Fairground­s runs June 8 and 9, featuring a preview of favorite fair foods like fresh-cut fries, baked potatoes and kettle corn. Admission is free.

The annual Connecticu­t Strawberry Fest at Colchester’s Priam Vineyards runs June 8 and 9, with more than 15 food trucks and 80 vendors offering strawberry-infused foods or strawberry products. Free admission.

The Connecticu­t Bacon Festival in Bozrah’s Maple Farm Park runs June 15 and 16, with food trucks offering bacon-related foods and desserts, crafters, vendors, music and entertainm­ent. Free admission.

The Manchester Food Truck Festival at The Shoppes at Buckland Hills runs June 21-23 and offers food from more than 20 trucks, craft vendors and children’s activities.

The Connecticu­t Pickle Festival is scheduled for July 13 and 14 at the Berlin Fairground­s, with pickle-themed food and drink items, bounce houses, crafters and vendors, live music, a pickleeati­ng contest and pickle juice challenge. Tickets start at $29.99 for general admission.

The Riverfront Food Truck Festival at Hartford’s Mortensen Riverfront takes place July 1820 and features three days of outdoor dining and live music. More informatio­n will be posted at riverfront.org/events/foodtruckf­estival24.

The annual New England Taco Festival at the Guilford Fairground­s runs July 27 and 28, with taco trucks, lucha libre

wrestling, donkey rides, mariachi bands, tequila, margaritas, mechanical bull rides and carnival games. General admission tickets start at $19.99.

The Naugatuck Food

Truck Festival on the Green on Aug. 27, presented by Naugatuck Outreach Partnershi­p, features a full lineup of food trucks, live music and local artisans.
