Vin­cent J. Loz­i­nak

Vin­cent J. Loz­i­nak, age 67, of Nor­walk, died sud­denly at his home. Vinny was born May 31, 1951 in Bridge­port, son of Mary Ann (Bruchac) Loz­i­nak and the late Vin­cent Ni­cholas Loz­i­nak.

He served two tours of duty as a mem­ber of the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cav­alry, 101st Air­borne Division (Air Mo­bile), dur­ing the Viet­nam War. In July of 1970, Vin­cent would dis­tin­guish him­self as a crew chief and door gun­ner on a UH-1H he­li­copter dur­ing an ex­trac­tion mis­sion in the Khe Sahn Plains. He was later awarded the Air Medal for brav­ery. Vin­cent en­joyed mu­sic, read­ing and paint­ing. Sur­vivors in­clude his mother Maryann (Bruchac) Loz­i­nak, five brothers and one sis­ter: Wayne Loz­i­nak of Eas­ton, Vic­tor Loz­i­nak of Mil­ford, Richard and Melinda Loz­i­nak of New­town, Steven and Jane Loz­i­nak of Fair­field, Michael and Dia Loz­i­nak of Fair­field and Mar­i­lyn (Loz­i­nak) Wolf and her hus­band Ed­ward of Derby. Vin­cent is also sur­vived by six neph­ews and one niece: Wayne Loz­i­nak of Bridge­port, Emily and Nick Loz­i­nak of Fair­field,

Robert and Wil­liam Wolf of Derby and Dil­lon Loz­i­nak of New­town. Per the fam­ily’s wishes, there will be no call­ing hours or fu­neral ser­vice.
