MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER TRACTOR ACCIDENT

A Washington Depot man was seriously injured after being run over by a tractor on Saturday.

Timothy Meeker Jr., 23, fell off the tractor, was dragged around the back left wheel and partially run over, according to state police. He had been standing on a steel plate attached to the back of the tractor that was meant to pull objects, not carry passengers, police said.

State police were called around 6:30 p.m. to Hut Hill Road.

Meeker was brought to Danbury Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

State police are still investigating.
