Melissa W. Maniscalco
It is with great sadness that the family of Melissa Weston Maniscalco of Middlefield, CT announces that their daughter and beloved wife of William Maniscalco passed away surrounded by her loving husband and parents on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the age of 49, after a long courageous battle against cancer. Melissa, born April 12, 1969, will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of twenty one years, William Maniscalco. She will be forever remembered by her mother and father, Cathy and Daniel Weston of Chatham, MA, her sister-in-law Penny and brother-in-law David Valentin, and her nephew DJ of West Haven, CT. She will also be held in the hearts of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Patricia Maniscalco, her fatherin-law William C. Maniscalco, her maternal grandparents, Kitty and Charles Gammerino, and paternal grandparents George and Kathleen Weston. Melissa, born in Meriden, CT, attended Southington High School, graduated from the University of New Hampshire, and after completing her masters program at both Ithaca College and CCSU, she pursued a career as an athletic trainer at Southington High School. She then began a new career as a physical therapy coordinator at Orthopedic Associates of Hartford. Later she joined Yale Medicine as a team manager of the Department of Revenue Integrity and Analytics. Melissa spent her school years as a competitive figure skater, avid skier, hiker, golfer, hockey fan, equestrian and Chesapeake Bay Retriever lover. Melissa lived by the adage of “Have suitcase, will travel.” Melissa’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A celebration of Life Service for Melissa will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m., the Reverend Edward Prevost and Reverend John McGinn will be performing the memorial service.
