Victoria Alice Rodak
Victoria Alice Rodak, formerly of Darien, Connecticut was recently called home to the Lord. Victoria was born in 1962 to the late Walter and Dorothy Rodak of Milford, Connecticut, where she was educated in the publicschool system, graduating as valedictorian of Milford High School’s class of 1980. Victoria was invited to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in French language and literature. While at MIT, Victoria was a member of the women’s varsity gymnastics team, Society of Women Engineers and American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Victoria was a lifelong member of Delta Psi, a national co-educational fraternity, serving as an officer of the MIT Tau chapter.
Following graduation, Victoria began a career as a consultant and manager to the international chemical industry, including the Rhone-Poulenc and Unilever companies. After twenty years of work and travel in the corporate world, Victoria was called to pursue her lifelong passion for the culinary arts. Victoria became a private chef, sharing her talent in fine dining and entertainment that her friends and family had so long enjoyed.
Victoria’s beautiful green eyes and ready smile captivated all who met her, along with her adventuresome spirit, and conversation that ranged from art, music, faith, and politics, to travel, architecture, fashion and much more. Victoria was a thoughtful, generous and inspiring friend to many, who will remember her as always willing to listen and lend her problemsolving abilities to any situation.
Victoria was devoted to her faith in the Lord, and her beloved feline family: Romy, Julian, Montana, Savannah and Paris. Victoria will be remembered especially for her service to St. Luke’s parish, particularly at Community suppers and her care and nourishment to the Choir during their very active holiday schedules.
Victoria is survived by her brothers Walter Rodak of Phoenix, Arizona and his wife Diana; Daniel Rodak of Milford; Kristopher Rodak of Portland, Oregon and his wife Jill; and nieces Katarina and Kyra.
