Alfred “Fred” Stern, age

57 of Monroe, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, January 9th 2019 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Norwalk on August 18, 1961, he was the son of the late Bill Stern and Edith Rosen Stern Winter. Alfred was married to his wife Sondra nee’ McDonald of 30 years and had two loving sons, Holden and Hunter. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Sacred Heart and ran his own painting business for 28 years. Fred was a compassion­ate man who would go out of his way to help family and friends. He enjoyed spending time on his boat and relaxing by the water. Fred had a passion for cars, and you could often find him driving around in his ‘77 Corvette. He was a hard worker who always supported his family. Fred was an organ donor and was able to contribute to those in need. Fred is survived by his wife Sondra of Monroe, CT, sons Holden of Narraganse­tt, RI and Hunter of Monroe, CT, step brother John Winter and his wife Frances of MD, in-laws Alex and Carol McDonald of Latham, NY, as well as many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. A celebratio­n of his life will take place at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on Sunday, January 13, 2019 with a Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in his memory may be made to the American Heart Associatio­n https://www.heart.org/
