Senators must represent citizens

-

An illegal immigrant kills a California deputy, an illegal immigrant shoots a 12year-old boy to death in Bridgeport, an illegal immigrant in Bridgeport stabs his wife to death and kidnaps his daughter, an illegal immigrant breaks in and rapes a university co-ed — hate to say it, but the president is right on this subject.

Whether we build a wall or a combination of a physical barrier and improved electronic surveillance isn’t the point here; the point is something must be done to stem the tide of illegal entry.

Sens. Murphy and Blumenthal need to spend some time thinking about protecting the rights of their constituents rather than the people who have entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas.

We hear them complaining about the conditions of the detention areas for the illegal immigrants but have yet to hear them say anything about the police officer who was killed, or their constituents who have been victimized.

I have nothing against immigrants who enter the country legally, as my parents did after World War II, but we need to have a secure border with a managed system of entry so that criminals are denied entry.

Anything else is failing the citizens and failing their duties as senators. They were elected to represent U. S. citizens, not the citizens of other countries.
