Those who seek evidence need only to consult Bible

Dear Dr. Graham: I read that Larry King was once asked which historical figure he would most want to interview, and his answer was Jesus. I wonder why since Larry King is Jewish?

Dear I.J.: Jesus was a Jew. His message of love and forgiveness was given first to the Jewish nation. He sent his disciples into the world to declare the same wonderful message to the gentile nations. This is why Paul, also a Jew, said in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (the rest of the world).

Paul was born Saul (a Jewish name) but was given the gentile name of Paul because he would carry Christ’s message of salvation to all people.

Over 2,000 years ago Jesus was born of a virgin (Luke 1:27). The angels rejoiced in the presence of the shepherds in the fields. The shepherds made their way to Bethlehem, the city of David, and glorified God for the Babe lying in the manger (Luke 2).

Much of the world challenges this message that has endured. They want proof, yet deny the historical evidence. They want to talk to Jesus personally. The good news is that they can know the evidence; they can talk to Christ one-on-one. He is a personal savior.

Everyone that asks, “How can we know Him?” can find the answer in the Bible because “God has shown it to them” (Romans 1:19).
