Open house
St. Mary School, 72 Gulf St. in Milford, hosts its annual open house on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Snow date is Feb. 5. Train talks

Cabaret show
The Trumbull Arts Commission presents “Dixie” on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at 23 Priscilla Place. The cabaret features celebrity impersonators. The show is for ages 21 and up. Attendees urged to bring their own refreshments. Tickets are $5. For reservations, call 203-452-5065.
Copyright course
Michael A. Blake, registered patent attorney, teaches a two-night course for inventors and small businesses. The first course, on Thursday, March 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., focuses on the patents. The second course, on Thursday, March 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., covers trademarks and copyrights. The course is held at Law High School, 20 Lansdale Ave. in Milford, in room 101. Cost is $39 for Milford residents, $34 for Milford seniors and $44 for nonresidents. MS support
A monthly multiple sclerosis support group meets the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carlton Outpatient Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, 360 Mill Plain Road in Fairfield. Feeder watch
Connecticut Audubon seeks volunteers at the Coastal Center in Milford for Project Feeder Watch — a citizen science project to collect data on changes in bird populations. Adults with an interest in birds, beginner or expert, can help observe and count birds at our feeders. Meets Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1 Milford Point Road. No meetings
Teamster Local 191 Retiree Chapter will host no meetings in January or February. The next meeting is Sunday, March 10 at the Joseph F. Bennetta Annex Meeting Hall, 1139 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport. Meeting starts at 10 a.m. Executive Board meets at 9:15.
Health screenings
Milford Hospital hosts blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol screenings on Monday, Jan. 21 from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the hospital, 300 Seaside Ave. in Milford. Blood pressure and blood glucose testing is free. Cholesterol testings costs $15. These are non-fasting, finger prick screening tests. Results and counseling available after the test. Support group
