-

Season tickets are on sale for the Stratford Brakettes, who open their season June 1 at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field in a doubleheader against the 18U Junior Brakettes.

Manager John Stratton returns for his 25th consecutive season, after leading the 36-time national champions to a 47-4 record and the Women’s Major Softball National Championship title last year. With the exception of pitcher Brandice Balschmiter, who retired, every starting player is back for the Brakettes.

Season tickets cost $100 for box seats, $80 for reserved with back rests (red section behind home plate), and $60 for first and third base bleachers. All subsequent tickets purchased are one-half price. The Brakettes have a 56-game regular season schedule, including 26 home dates before the 11th annual WMS on August 1-4.

Season tickets are also good for all Junior Brakettes home games. The Junior Brakettes feature a 19-player roster, including 12 college freshmen on scholarship and seven local high school players. They will be coached by former Brakettes catcher Mary Sciglimpaglia, of Norwalk, and the team boasts players from 13 cities in Connecticut and the High School Gatorade Players of the Year from Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The Junior Brakettes will also participate in the WMS and have a 46-game regular season schedule.

Ticket forms are available on the team’s website, www.brakettes.com, or by emailing brakettesgm@gmail.com.
